Wine Down Wednesday

November Wine Down

Large bottle of GT's Trilogy kombucha. | thetopknotkitchen

Well hellooooo! It’s hard to believe I’m already writing another monthly wine down. Didn’t November JUST start? They always seem to catch me by surprise, but I love the opportunity these wine downs bring to pause and reflect on the past month. I hope you can sit for a few quiet moments with a glass of something yummy and do the same—especially as we enter peak holiday craziness!

Before we dive in to the highlights, y’all want to know what I’m drinking? Due to the plague that I have been unable to shake and the subsequent antibiotics, this is a non-alcoholic Wine Down Wednesday, or rather a kombucha Wednesday, but it’s all good.

GT’s Trilogy is one of my favorites. Raspberry, lemon, and ginger all come together in perfect ‘booch harmony. I love the little effervescent zip of kombucha and am welcoming the probiotics with open arms right now. I buy this massive 48-ounce bottle when I know I’ll be drinking it for a few days. Are you a kombucha fan? What are some of your favorites? I love trying new flavors, so let me know!

Lest you think I’ve gone soft, I have a brand new shipment of Winc wines that I’m super excited to get into, so keep your eyes on the ‘gram when I dive into those.

We started this month with a quick trip North for John’s anniversary present, where we watched his favorite NFL team get crushed in enemy territory. (Sorry, honey!)

Later in the month we headed to Louisiana for some time with John’s family, including two of our sweet nephews. We don’t get to see the boys that often, so it was very special to spend a long weekend with them and soak up a little bit of their world.

Then it was home again for Thanksgiving, food, and even more family time!

Look at our beloved little Turkey!

Now it’s time to focus on getting healthy so I can deep clean the house and decorate for Christmas—something that makes my heart very, very happy.

Here are a few of the things I’ve been loving this month:

Listening

Dirty John. This podcast is a true story that the LA Times covered. Recently it’s been turned into TV show on Bravo starring Connie Britton. It’s about a woman in California who lets a charming con man into her life and then all of the crazy things that happen because of that. It is captivating. It’s only six episodes long and it was the perfect thing to listen to while we were traveling.

Reading

All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin. I love me an Emily Giffin novel and her newest book is no exception. It revolves around the lives of two families in Nashville that are at the center of a high school social media scandal. I burned through this book—I just couldn’t put it down!

Watching

DOGS on Netflix. The one upside to being sick is you can catch up on all the shows you’ve been wanting to watch, and ‘Dogs’ was on my list. This documentary series follows people from all over the world and the many ways dogs enrich our lives. It is a tail-wagging series, but if you’re anything like me you still might cwy a little, because, dogs.

Around here, you’ve been loving my Honey Sriracha Chicken. Sweet, spicy, and ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a no-brainer for a healthy weeknight dinner. Give it a try if you haven’t yet, and let me know how it goes!

What else have you been loving this month? Have any book or wine recommendations? I’d love to know.

Cheers! And remember to enjoy all the goodness that the next month brings.  ❤️
